Foster Portraits

As most of you know, I started off as mainly a newborn, family, and event photographer when I opened my business in 2013. Since then, my focus has greatly shifted from being a general photographer of all things, to a pet portrait photographer, in studio and on-site. I rarely take paying clients anymore, and I have decided to focus my time and energy on my greatest passion in life: rescue!

I volunteer at two rescues: Tigerlily Cat Rescue and A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue. I foster cats - mainly the difficult, long-term and medical cases. When I started volunteering, I quickly realized that a perfect portrait helps significantly in showcasing a pet's true personality and in finding them a fantastic forever home. Thus began my journey in mastering the most perfectly expressive and adorable pet portraits in order to help these babies find their families.

This past week, I had the opportunity to photograph two sweet animals currently in the foster homes through A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue: Tigger, a 10 week old kitten whose siblings had already found homes, and Sweetie, a 6 month old shepherd mix. Here is a sampling of the character they shared with me that day!

Update: Tigger has been ADOPTED! Sweetie is still in search of her perfect forever family!
